Cantus Ensemble's busy week!
Over the last week, Cantus has been very busy!
A Path of Miracles, 1st April
We were so happy that this performance went down well with our packed out audience! This concert was a first for Cantus; full of lights, incense and even some dramatic monologues from the fantastic Alex Knox.
Thank you again to all who and particular thanks must go to choir member Olivia Howie for directing us, and to Alex as well.
Westminster Abbey, 7th April
Cantus were invited to sing Evensong at Westminster Abbey on Friday. We sang some evensong classics, including the Leighton's Service and William Walton's Drop Slow Tears. We hope to be invited back again in the future!
Sea Symphony with Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, 8th April
Scott Price invited Cantus to help at CVMS' Easter Concert by singing Vaughan Williams' marvellous Sea Symphony. The first half of the concert was a performance of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G, performed by the virtuoso Owen Saldanha, a sixth-former at the school. We then joined the choir on stage with soloists Duncan Rock and Sarah Fox to sing. Congratulations to all involved.
And we're not done there!
Cantus is now getting ready for their annual tour, and this year we will be heading to LISBON! We hope Portugal is ready for us...
Keep your eyes peeled for some further exciting updates from the choir, and an opportunity for you to get involved too.
